Why this programme sells
Medjugorje, a village in western Herzegovina, has drawn pilgrims from around the world since 1981. Italian, Irish, Polish, Korean and American parish groups make up a large part of the flow. In September 2024 the Vatican's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith gave a positive assessment (nihil obstat) of the spiritual fruits of Medjugorje, without ruling on the alleged apparitions.
Pilgrimage operators need a reliable local partner for transfers, accommodation close to St James Church, guides who understand a pilgrimage group and excursions that fit around the daily prayer programme. This programme leaves the spiritual content to the group leader and handles everything else.

Group size and guiding
Most groups travel with their own spiritual director or group leader. We provide the coach and driver, a local guide where needed and a group assistant who meets the group, checks it in and is the local contact throughout.
Coaches suit groups of 30 to 50; minibuses suit smaller parish groups. Climbs on Apparition Hill and Cross Mountain are on uneven rocky paths; for pilgrims with limited mobility we plan alternatives at the foot of the hills.
FAQ
Which airport is best for Medjugorje?
Mostar is the closest, about 30 minutes away, with Croatia Airlines from Zagreb, seasonal flights from Italy and pilgrim charters. Split and Dubrovnik are about 2 to 2.5 hours away and have a much wider choice of flights. Schedules change; last checked: October 2026.
Can you arrange Mass in our language?
St James Church holds Masses in several languages according to its international schedule. We plan the group's day around the Mass in its language and can help the group leader with requests for a separate Mass, which are decided by the parish.
Can you handle pilgrims from Split or Dubrovnik?
Yes. We arrange transfers from Split and Dubrovnik, including the border crossing into Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Can elderly pilgrims take part?
Yes. The hotel is within walking distance of the church, and the hill climbs are optional. We can arrange transport to the foot of the hills.
Can you add Sarajevo or Dubrovnik?
Yes. A Sarajevo extension adds the capital's religious heritage, including the Catholic cathedral; a Dubrovnik extension adds the Croatian coast. Both work as a last day or as extra nights.
